Mark made some fitted cabinets for our bathrooms, simple but real craftsmanship showing off the natural beauty of the wood, offering advice and suggestions based on experience. As we were saying our thank you’s and goodbyes, we happened to mention that we had struggled to find a reputable company to replace our conservatory. This led after several more conversations to Mark agreeing to build us an oak Orangery. The craftsmanship and design are just wonderful. Mark consulted with us throughout the project and we were able to see everything from the delivery of a sawn ‘tree’, to the frames in the workshop and finally the stunning completion of a wonderful, natural oak Orangery. The quality is superb with simple yet effective detailing which make it naturally beautiful. Mark has a real flare for design as well as the ability to create amazing pieces from wood. He has translated our brief and exceeded our expectations. We are absolutely delighted the the finished result and already have other commissions planned for the future.

We Identified Mark through a Google search of Norfolk craftsman as we looked to find someone we could contract to build a dining table and chairs for our home on the N. Norfolk Coast. Quality workmanship and Amazing carpentry!When I first contacted Mark, I was unsure if he would be able to help me? I was after a DJ booth to be made and installed in to my new home. However, the words ‘if you can think it, I can make it’ caught my eye and I gave him a call. He arranged to come and have a chat with me and take measurements. When Mark arrived we discussed my needs and what I would like, he then set up a contract, computer image, payment schedule and date for installation. And that was it!! Next thing I know, he had somehow taken an image from my mind and made it a reality in my living room! All on time with no problems or hassle. I cannot stress how much I recommend Mark Rhodes!! We had an odd alcove that could not be filled with shop bought furniture.
We contracted Mark to build an Oak Cabinet with cupboard, shelves and glass doors. It was completed before the expected date and Mark fitted it all in a morning. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, built to the highest standard. Not just a piece of furniture but a lifetime investment to our home. A very clean workman who left no trace of being here! We wanted a set of bifold doors to separate the kitchen extension we had recently built from our snug. The house is Victorian and it was important that whatever we had was in keeping with the period. Having used Mark previously for sash window restoration we were keen to exploit his skills again.
Mark discussed the project with us and came up with some excellent suggestions for how it could look. I’d like to claim that the design was mine but actually all I knew was that we needed 2 doors that bent in the middle. Mark came up with a set of drawings and then translated them into a beautiful end product. He has a great eye for details – the reclaimed wood, the brass hinges, the architrave surrounding the doorway – it’s all wonderful. And the way it was fitted was perfect – it’s an old house with awkwardly bent walls but the doors fit and swing perfectly to a tight close.
Not only will we use Mark again for any work requiring his skills, but we’d thoroughly recommend him to anyone else.Thanks,

Not only was the work undertaken as quoted it was also done on time and with no inconvenience to us.
